This is the final event of the Wonford Activity Days programme and will take place between 11am and 3pm on 14th August at Wonford Playing Fields, Wonford Community Centre and around Wonford and Ludwell Valley.

The event includes taster sessions and information about being active in Wonford now and also will look at Wonford Past.

Ludwell History Cafe

Wonford Community and Learning Centre and Ludwell Life are working together to provide an opportunity for local people to find out more about where they live particularly the very rich and long history of Ludwell Valley.

Did you grow up in Wonford? There will be the opportunity to reminisce, look at photos and  share your stories over  a cup of tea.

Shakespeare Swing By

Residents of Shakespeare Road and it’s adjoining roads and avenues are invited to join a fun walk finding out about some local heroes and other local history.

The walk will be at 10.30 and again at 1.00pm meeting at the One stop shop and is presented bylocal heritage/arts community group – the Burnthouse Lane Squilometre.

 

 

Guided History Walks in Ludwell Valley

Ludwell Life have developed two walks giving glimpses into the recent and distant past of Ludwell Valley. The first walk is at 11.30 and takes approximately one hour and is relatively flat. The second walk starts at 2.00 and takes approximately an hour and a half and includes walking up onto and down from the main ridge. There are limited places so you can book by ringing Wonford Community Centre on 217868 or by finding the Ludwell Life stand in the hall on the day.

Painting Workshop

As part of ‘The Imaginarium of Us’ project, Burn the Curtain  present  an abstract painting workshop with Sara Downham-Lotto between 10am to 12 noon 

This is for age 16+ and places can be booked by emailing kerrie@burnthecurtain.co.uk with your phone number.

 

Meet a Curiositer!

As part of the Imaginarium of Us project Burn the Curtain invie you to come and meet the Curiositers – the guardians of  ‘the Imaginarium’, the treasury of now, the immortal museum of the moment arriving in Exeter soon! What is special to you is magic to them – come and feed their curiosity!

The Curiositers will be in various locations around Ludwell Valley Park between 1pm and 3pm. 

 

Wildlife walk with the Ludwell Valley Park Ranger

This guided circular walk from Devon Wildlife Trust takes you from Wonford Community and Learning Centre up into the valley park. The walk will take around 45 minutes and includes some steep hills. There is informal booking on the day- come and find the Devon Wildlife Trust tent on the field behind the Community Centre to find out walk times and to book.

Devon Wildlife Trust Family Walk and Bug Hunt

A family walk with the Devon Wildlife Trust Outdoor Learning Team into a Ludwell Valley orchard for some bug hunting fun!

Informal booking on the day – come and find us outside the community Centre to find out walk times and to book.

Children’s Yoga sessions

Yoga, songs and adventure for children aged 3-7 and their grown-ups with Nikkie Huddart.

Sessions start at 12pm and at 1pm

Nordic walking information station and demonstrations plus an opportunity to book yourself on a free taster course.
