Our friendly cafe is open from
10am till 12noon on Wednesdays
10.45 am to 12.45pm on Thursdays
with tables inside and out
(weather permitting!)

Also selling hot and cold drinks along side giving away surplus food donations on Saturday mornings in the small meeting room overlooking the park. 11.30 till 1pm, times may vary depending on bookings in the centre. Access on a Saturday is only by the back of the centre overlooking the park.

Have a read of the stats for last year, We are really proud of our project and how the Surplus food helps prevent food waste and in turn provides donations for our food pantry, which helps those in need.

Surplus Saturdays and
the Wonford Food Pantry

The Wonford Community Centre is signed up to the Neighbourly Project who work with supermarkets to help prevent food waste.

We get donations on a Saturday and have them available for anyone to take, this helps prevent it going to landfill, and we all benefit from a few extra goodies.

We ask visitors to bring their own bags and to only take what they can make use of, this ensures as many people can benefit from the donatons as possible. We often have bread, pastries, fruit, veg and flowers.

Our volunteers collect the donations and open the cafe around 11am, this is usually at the back of the community centre opening onto the field, times vary but we do announce it on our Facebook page and we ave a whatsapp announcement channel too. We also have refreshments on sale as part of the Community Cafe.

All money donations taken from the surplus, go to our Food Pantry Project, where local residents may come in and choose up to 8 items from the Food Pantry, open Mon to Thu 9am – 12noon and Fri 1pm – 4pm. One parcel per household.

BOOKS AND JIGSAW PUZZLES

We have our book swap trolley, and Jigsaw Puzzles so if you are looking for something different to read, or a puzzle to complete, come and browse our selection.

(We have plenty so are not currently looking for book donations, but feel free to swap some!)

If you wish to get more involved in the Community Centre activities consider our membership. £6.00 per person per year.
